Our boat

After more than 10000 nm we know our boat very well and are really satisfied. This is specially true for the basic design (Van de Stadt) and the rig (Seldén). It feels good to sail a boat we fully trust.

Name

In Norse Mythology, Embla was the first woman on earth. She was created by Oden and two other gods from a piece of driftwood found on a beach. This is descibed in ”Völuspá” (”Prophecy of the Seeress”). The poem is preserved in Konungsbók Eddukvćđa from early 1400th century and tells the story of the creation of the world in Norse mythology.
